Lydia Wright - Nursery Manager

Hi, I'm Lydia and I am the newly appointed Nursery Manager at Horizon Childcare. I have been working in early years for over seven years and hold a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies and have been accredited with Early Years Teacher Status. I have worked in over eight settings including: preschools; nurseries; schools and children's centres and I am enjoying this new challenge. My passion lies in making a difference to children, families and staff. I try to motivate the team to strive for outstanding education to give children the best outcomes possible. I am fortunate enough at Horizon to help shape our provision as a nursery, after-school and holiday club.

Also, in 2011 I qualified as a ballet teacher and still like to use this aspect of my experience at work. Outside of work I enjoy swimming, going to the beach, watching films and dancing.

Laura Ash - Deputy Manager

Hello, I'm Laura, I am the newly appointed Deputy Manager at Horizon Childcare. I have been working in early years for over six years and hold a Level 3 Diploma For The Children And Young People's Workforce (QCF) as well as a Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Management. I have experience of working in a 0-2 year old provision as a Deputy Manager and have over four years experience as a room leader which included managing a small staff team and caring for up to twenty 0-2 year old's a day.

I have a passion for travelling and exploring different cultures. I have recently returned from a three month trip visiting New Zealand, Australia, South East Asia and Dubai. I have been fortunate enough to succeed in being appointed Deputy Manager at Horizon Nursery on my return. I am dedicated to helping children to learn, grow and achieve by enriching them with new and exciting activities and experiences to help them thrive and develop in every way possible.

Rhianna Hurn - Third In Charge

My name is Rhianna and I have recently qualified from Exmouth Community College with my Level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Children's Play, Learning and Development. One of my favourite things about working with children is watching them develop and thrive, it makes me proud when I see children accomplish new milestones such as sitting up by themselves, crawling, walking, talking and becoming more independent.

My hobbies include volunteering at Exmouth Gateway Club which is a social club for adults with learning disabilities and I love spending time with my friends and family. I am really looking forward to starting a lifelong career in childcare and settling in here at Horizon Nursery.

Jourdan Toleman - Nursery Practitioner

Hi, my name is Jourdan and I am a level 2 apprentice here at Horizon Childcare. I decided to apply for a job in childcare as I like to help children to develop, face challenges and become more independent. I am really enjoying my apprenticeship and I am aiming to do my level 3 qualification. I live in Exeter with my parents and siblings. My hobbies include majorettes and spending time with my friends and family.

Kara Eagle - Nursery Practitoner

Hi, my name is Kara, I am a level 2 practitioner and I am currently studying towards my level 3 qualification. I've been in childcare since 2014 and recently joined the team at Horizon Childcare in October 2016. The reason I chose a career in childcare is because I really enjoy working with children, seeing them develop and watching them grow. My hobbies include spending time with friends and family and spending time with my pets. In my spare time I also enjoy going for walks and big adventures with my dog.

Charlotte Strudwick - Nursery Practitioner

Ciara - Nursery Practitioner

Hi, I’m Ciara and I am a Level 3 Nursery Practitioner here at Horizon Childcare. I have worked alongside children and young people for six years and I hold a BA (Hons) in Education Studies. Along with this, I am currently working towards a Masters degree in Education Management and Leadership as I am passionate about providing an education that is effective and fulfilling for all children, as well as one that enables them to thrive and achieve in all aspects of their development.

In my spare time, I enjoy volunteering at my local Church and relaxing with friends and family.

Chloe Bradshaw - Nursery Practitioner

Hello, I'm Chloe. I am currently working on my level 2 qualification here at Horizon Childcare. I am really enjoying my apprenticeship. I decided to work with children as I like seeing them develop and grow. I am aiming to carry on and do my level 3 qualification.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my friends and family and going shopping.

We create independent, happy, critical thinkers.

Our nursery
has a homely atmosphere and is small in size, currently only taking 24 children.
